Xitang, Zhejiang, the largest ancient town in the southern Yangtze River
with a one-thousand-year history. Because of its strategic location on
the boundary between the Wu and Yue States, Xitang is well known as the
Bottom of the Wu State (907-978) and the Corner of Yue State (907-978).
Xitang is unique for its large number of bridges, lanes, and ceiling
corridors. You can feel the gentle breeze rippling over the river when
standing on the old bridge. Many shops and houses in Xitang are built
along the riverside.
